Welcome to El Viajero Hostels Uruguay, Colombia and Paraguay. We are a Hostel and B&B network located in the best places of Uruguay (Colonia, Montevideo, Punta del Este and La Pedrera), Colombia (Cartagena de Indias and San Andres Island) and Paraguay (Asunción).

El Viajero Downtown Hostel & Suites is conveniently located in the heart of Montevideo: two blocks away from our most important Avenue 18 de Julio and just 10 minutes away from Montetvideo’s top places.

Established in an ex Hotel in a typical colonial style house of the XIX Century; El Viajero Downtown Hostel & Suites has 12 private rooms with bathroom en-suite next to a colonial backyard offering you all the comfort of a Hotel; in the fun and relaxing atmosphere of a Hostel.

Rooms are clean,  big and luminous. We also have a very spacious and well-equipped kitchen, a colonial patio with a garden outside, open bar 24/7, comun TV are with DVD and a Media player with variety of movies.

We have worked extremely hard to pay very close attention to details to offer:
Breakfast, hot water 24/7,  laundry service, public telephone, bed linen, free computers with internet access, Wi-Fi, laundry service, bike rental, Parking (not included) and gym (not included).

Rates are expressed in US dollars to make easier the conversion, but the payments must be made in Uruguayan pesos, during check in time.

From the bus station Tres Cruces:

You take the bus in Boulevar Artigas street (main door of the bus station), and from there take bus number CA1 which costs $10 uruguayan pesos (0.5 U$S), or 180/ 187/ 188/ 300 which costs $18 (1 U$S). You get off the bus in Cagancha Square, keep walking by 18 de Julio street (the main street of Montevideo) one more block, then turn left and walk 2 blocks, and then right half a block and you’ll find the hostel.

If you arrive at night take a taxi (they cost around 7 U$S).

From the Port:

Walk to the corner of Cerrito almost Lindolfo Cuestas (2 blocks from the Port) and take bus number 116/ 117/ 121 which costs $18 and you get of the bus in the corner of San José st. almost Río Negro. You take Río Negro st and walk to the right 1 block, then turn left half a block and you have the hostel.

If you arrive at night take a taxi (they cost around 5 U$S).

From the Airport:

Take the buses number 703 or 704, they costs $31 (2 U$S). Get off the bus in Uruguay and Julio Herrera y Obes. Turn left and walk by Julio Herrera y Obes 5 blocks. Turn left, walk one and a half block and you will find the hostel.

If you arrive at night take a taxi (they cost around 55 U$S).
