Welcome to El Viajero Hostels Colombia, Uruguay and Paraguay. We are a Hostel and B&B network located in the best places of Uruguay (Colonia, Montevideo, Punta del Este and La Pedrera), Colombia (Cartagena de Indias and San Andres Island) and Paraguay (Asunción).
We are the only hostel in Cartagena with breakfast included. We offer air conditioning in sharing rooms and private superior rooms.
Established in a typical colonial style house of the XIX Century; conveniently located inside the famous Cartagena’s old walled city and only a few blocks away from the well known Fernandez de Madrid square and from the main attractions of Cartagena de Indias in a fun and relaxing atmosphere.
Rooms are clean, big and luminous. We also have a very spacious and well-equipped kitchen, a colonial patio with a garden outside, bar with the best cheapest drinks in town, common TV area with DVD and Netflix TV with a great variety of movies.
We have worked extremely hard to pay very close attention to details to offer:

Each bed has a locker for your belongings and also an individual safe-deposit box for your valuable objects.
In the hostel you can get information about all the activities you can do in Cartagena and its surroundings: Tayrona Park, Rosario Islands, Playa Blanca, Barú, Kayak and more.
We offer salsa lessons, djs, live music and a great variety of activities. Our bar offers the best music and drinks until midnight.
Take into account that our staff knows everything you may need to know the Caribbean coast.

How to get here
From the airport and bus station, the best option is taking a taxi. The rates are already set, but you can negotiate them.
From the airport $10000 Colombian pesos ( 5 dolars) and it takes 10 minutes till the hostel.
From the bus station $15000 Colombian pesos (7.5 dolars) and it takes 30 minutes till the hostel.
If you are coming in a hired bus, ask them to leave you at Fernandez del Madrid Square
Remember not to confuse our Hostel with the “HOTEL El Viajero” (also in downtown). We are “El Viajero Hostels” and we are located in the sreet Siete Infantes (tell the taxi driver the name of the street not to get confuse with the HOTEL with the same name).
